55 Neighborhood Crip Empty 55 Neighborhood Crip

5578 NEIGHBORHOOD CRIP
The West Side Rollin 50s Neighborhood Crips (R50s NHC) are a predominately African-American street gang from the West Side of South Los Santos. They are located between Vermont and Western Avenues in the east and west, from Slauson Avenue in the south to 54th Street in the north. During the 1980s the gang in this area was known as the "55 Hustler Crips" occupying the same area. During the early 1990s, they changed their name to 55 Neighbor Hood Crips and then shortly thereafter two other Neighbor Hood Crip factions emerged; the 57 Neighbor Hood Crips and 58 Neighbor Hood Crips. The three factions are now under the Rollin 50s Neighborhood Crips identity and are aligned with all Neighbor Hood Crip sets throughout Los Angeles. They are considered rivals of the Harvard Park Brims, Van Ness Gangster Brims, Fruit Town Brims, Black P. Stones, 52 Hoover Gangster Crips, 59 Hoover Criminals Gang, 51 Trouble Gangster Crips, 52 Broadway Gangster Crips, the Eight Tray Gangster Crips.

It is also known that its members are involved in many unjustified murders, indeed, for two or three years now. The violence escalated in LS and the number of innocents multiplied. The first gang shooting of 2017 sparked the movement "Don't Shoot, I want to grow up." On January 14th, several known affiliates of the 59 Hoover Criminals were loitering outside of a house on the corner of 59th & Hoover Street. Allegedly, a car full of Rollin 50s gang affiliates were shot at while passing by earlier that day, in retaliation two members of the 59 Hoover Criminals and a 4-month old infant were killed in the grisly shooting.

THE ANCESTOR OF 55 NEIGHBORHOOD CRIP: THE 55TH STREET HUSTLERS
As explained previously, the direct origin of the Rollin 50s Neighborhood Crips are the 55th Street Hustlers. Initially, the Rollin 50s Neighborhood Crips were simply a small club set up in 1963 by a group of teenagers from Gregory McCaine High School. Already at that time, territorial tensions within the black communities of the city existed. The young people on 55th Street, tired of being harassed by their stronger neighbors, and possibly the police, decided accordingly to found the 55th Street Hustlers. At that time, the Crips or Bloods obviously did not exist yet. The only purpose of these disorganized clubs was to defend themselves against the police and other neighborhoods. The following year, the 55th Street Boys successfully defended their position, allowing the young group to assert its authority in the area. By the 1960s gang culture was very different from what it had become, band feuds were being fought over, and the only weapons known to them were bats, knives and bricks. However, the riots of 1965 plunge the city into a deep distress, traumatizing the integrity of the black community more than ever. As a result, poverty increased drastically, and rivalries between gangs became more and more violent. Following these tragic events, a potential union or solidarity between blacks of Los Santos seemed more illusory than ever.

In 1969, while bands in LS's South End had either merged or disappeared due to increased violence and pressure from the LSPD, the 55th Street Hustlers had successfully defended their young heritage against the enemy. . Around 1970 and 71, the word Crip begins to be heard more and more and the gang in question proposes alliances with the various bands already existing of the city. Indeed, at that time the Crips were at war against the Brims, and the many conflicts of interest generated by this war pushed the gangs of the city to choose a camp. Needless to say, during this same period in Los Santos, the ideologies of the defense of the rights of the Blacks took a completely different and regrettable turn.
In fact, it seems that since now a certain number of weeks, the rate of violence experienced by teenagers neighborhoods skyrocketing, it would probably come from the many specific and violent techniques used by gangs. According to our sources and the reports of the Los Santos police, we say that an incredible number of innocent people are being killed every day, week, or even month after the bullets lost in the international shootings. gangs. A teenager recently spoke on the subject, he was on the other side of the street when a shooting took place, he testified: "I'm afraid to go to school now, the streets have become too dangerous, it's risky you know, even the high school has closed for a week after the unmistakable shootings between gangs."

FROM THE 90'S TO THE PRESENT
Despite the temporary calm, the hatred accumulated on both sides was too strong to consider peace and the war resumed. In 1989, the bloodshed between the two gangs made headlines in the city, shining the spotlight on violence in the southern neighborhoods of Los Santos. The animosity that was taking place in these neighborhoods besieged the normal inhabitants who could no longer let the children out because of the sudden gunshots. With a hitherto unmatched rate of 507 homicides, the city of Los Santos ordered an anti-gang injunction applying to El Corona and Willowfield. Assisted by CRASH, the city needed 5 difficult years to partially uproot the 59 Hoover Criminals from their territory, and dramatically affect the Rollin 50s Neighborhood Crips. Thus, the last generation of the gang, the youngest, was left without control or leadership, causing a major imbalance to El Corona.
Until recently, the band was small but very active. According to the LS Times' Homicide Report , El Corona was the most dangerous principality for a young African-American in 2018 and the City Hall encircled in response the neighborhood of surveillance cameras. The ongoing efforts of the LSPD against the Rollin 50s Neighborhood Crips gradually led to their decline. The Los Santos Police Leadership Corps has moved forward on a new topic: "We, Los Santos Police, will now begin to file all members' students gangs, who are here mainly to sell illicit substances ". For some time now, the big sports fans have been complaining, because many students are controlled by the police because they wear caps, uniforms or any kind of objects that represent a football team and so on. may be the effigy of a local gang. As well as a new prevention measure, every student with tattoos linking him to a local gang will be searched, his criminal record will be filled and he will have a chance to get fired from the high school he is in. According to high schools, this new measure will help fight drug trafficking in high schools, racketeering, harassment and all activities that can be carried out by gangs within a school."
